With the increasing acceleration of technological developments, mathematics has begun to be used extensively in many different fields such as medicine, economics, biology, social sciences and engineering. In parallel with this development, the need for mathematicians is increasing and this increase is expected to continue in the future. Mathematics department graduates:

  • They can pursue an academic career after completing their higher education.
  • They can work as analysts in the banking and finance sector.
  • They can work as mathematicians in Turkish Statistical Institute, State Planning Organization and similar government institutions.
  • After receiving the necessary formation training, they can work as teachers in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education.
  • They can work as mathematical modeling experts in the software industry.
  • They can work as researchers in research institutions or technology producing institutions (TÜBİTAK, SAGE, ASELSAN etc.).
  • They can work as practitioners in the public or private sector who compile data, act as analysts, and develop mathematical and statistical models.

Thanks to their analytical thinking abilities, problem-solving competencies, numerical method skills and knowledge, mathematicians have begun to become an important part of teams consisting of different disciplines in this period when the pace of technological development is constantly increasing.
