By using innovative learning and teaching methods and technologies in line with TED University's liberal education approach, the Department of Mathematics:
- Proficient in scientific methods and principles used in different fields of mathematics,
- Developed analytical thinking and problem solving skills,
- Able to transfer the theoretical knowledge and techniques of mathematics to different disciplines and application areas;
- Skilled in effective use of technology in computational processes and other areas of mathematics
- Having interdisciplinary working skills and culture,
- Equipped with sufficient academic background to successfully take part in postgraduate studies in relevant fields,
- Being sensitive to the events around him and adopting the principle of lifelong learning,
- It aims to train mathematicians who can follow changing technology, cultural life and approaches, question them and renew themselves and their field knowledge.
In order to achieve these goals, TED University Department of Mathematics Undergraduate Program has been designed as an integrative education program based on a liberal education approach that allows students to develop themselves in line with their own interests and orientations. In this program, which is designed to be "student-centered", unlike other mathematics programs, students can take many different courses in the theoretical and applied fields of mathematics, while taking elective courses outside the field, they can improve themselves in many different fields that interest them, from engineering to economics, from social sciences to educational sciences.
To complement this training program, importance has been given to the theoretical and practical balance of the courses, and innovative, technology-oriented and student-centered education methods have been designed as important elements of the learning and teaching process. With this integrated approach, our aim is to train mathematical theorists and practitioners who have knowledge and skills in their field, are innovative, open-minded, follow relevant fields and the changing world, and continue to learn throughout their lives.
